WE are currently documenting major construction works for the Royal Albert Hall, as preparations for the venue’s 150th birthday get underway.
We have been covering The Great Excavation since February 2017, which will transform the Hall’s south-west quadrant into a new multi-purpose space ahead of this milestone anniversary in March 2021.
Not only is this one of the most prestigious projects we have ever worked on, but also one of the most challenging.
The recently-released edit condenses nine months of progress into just one minute and has featured in news articles on the front page of the Royal Albert Hall’s website, as well as being shared widely on social media.
We have a longstanding relationship with the venue, previously providing high quality, micro-managed capture for special events taking place in the auditorium.
Our ‘A Year in the Life’ time-lapse – documenting 365 days of the venue in full working capacity – is just one example of this and has recently topped 100,000 views on YouTube.
The Great Excavation at the Royal Albert Hall will eventually make way for new, multi-purpose entertainment, leisure and operations spaces. This exciting development is also forming part of a series of events to celebrate the past, present and future of the venue, ahead of the its 150th birthday on 29 March 2021.
